My husband has been enjoying a bit fancier of a sandwich for his lunches lately. He has been going through the different spicy and tangy Boar’s Head meats at our Kroger and raiding our cheese supply to find combinations he likes. To go with it, I started to work on a flavored mayonnaise that would compliment nearly all of these spicy meat combinations. (Spoiler alert: It works great on regular lunch meats too!)
Homemade Habanero Mayo Recipe
This is a spicy, tangy mayo recipe great for lunch time sandwiches. The recipe creates about 1/4 cup of habanero mayo.
Remove the top and stem of the habanero and chop it either by hand or with a quick pulse in a food processor. Keep the seeds.
Stir the habanero pieces into the quarter cup of mayonnaise before adding the seasonings, making sure everything is well incorporated.
This can be used right away, but is best if it's been in the fridge overnight. Spread onto your sandwich and enjoy.
[recipe]This has been great on multiple sandwich types, but our favorite so far has been to put this spicy mayo on Boar's Head chipotle chicken breast lunch meat with provolone cheese, lettuce, and onions.
