I haven’t been shy about the fact that my adult acne has jumped from bad to worse since the wedding a couple months ago. We’re trying for baby number three, so I’m off of the pill that kept my face monsters in check. 26 is way too old for this. I picked up a Soniclear by Michael Todd True Organics in hopes of it helping out with my big red problem.
About the Soniclear:
“Introducing SONICLEAR, the World’s First Antimicrobial Sonic Skin Cleansing System because cleaner skin begins with a cleaner brush.™ Powerful, yet gentle enough even for sensitive skin, Soniclear micro-massages away dirt and impurities and then protects itself from microbial contamination. Removes makeup 6x better and cleanses 2x better than with hands alone.”
As it mentions in the blurb above, this system’s brush is antimicrobial. That’s a huge difference from washing up with a washcloth which I may be too lazy to change every few days. Worth a try right?
I’ve been using it for about two weeks with my normal cleanser and I’d say there’s about half as much acne as there was before. It’s not a big change, but it’s enough to justify continuing to use it. The biggest change though is the brightness in my skin, especially in my cheeks right on either side of my nose. My skin always feels like I’ve used a light exfoliating scrub afterward. I don’t suggest trying to use this to clean over your nose or close to your ears though. The vibrations that are making that cleaning possible are way too much for me to handle. It’s like an extreme tickling sensation that’s just too strong to stand for more than a few seconds.
The system IS $150.00 on Amazon which is above what I would normally spend on beauty products, but I’m considering it an investment. It came with two brushes (face and body), it’s rechargeable, antimicrobial, and waterproof. I can forget to wash my face at the sink (frequently, oops) and still just take it in the shower with me instead.
- Antimicrobial for a clean brush every time
- Easy to clean
- Both brushes included (face and body)
- 3 speeds for each brush
- Slight exfoliating effect
- Can be used with your regular cleanser or theirs
- Too soft for use with a strong exfoliating cleanser
- Timing beeps are useful, but rather loud (especially in the shower)
- Unit turns off after the suggested time so you don’t overdo it
- Even lowest setting is a bit too much for sensitive parts (nose, near ears)
Overall, I’m definitely going to keep using this as the pros largely outweigh the cons.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
