The first time I used this lip gloss I was devastated because I was certain I’d have to give you guys a bad review of it. I’m going to start win the cons and then move on to why I’m using it today in spite of them.
I showed you on Instagram when I received my lip gloss from Envyderm. For those new here, I’m addicted to lip products. I will try any shade and I hoard red lipstick like it’s going away tomorrow. The product comes in a gorgeous square bottle, but when I opened it there was a really strong medicinal odor. It reminded me a little bit of the freezing spray I use on my muscles sometimes after exercising. It took a good full five minutes for it to go away after I put it on. I was so sad and put it away for a few days, defeated.
It did do a little bit of plumping out some of the lines in my lips and I loved the color, so I pulled it back out and tried to use it for a few days to see if maybe I could get used to the smell. Surprisingly, the gloss must have “aired out” after being used for a while because the smell started to diminish a lot. In fact it’s hardly noticeable now at first and quickly disappears all together. I’m so happy that I gave it a second chance. I imagine that the plumping effect would be more pronounced on someone a bit older than I who may have more age lines.
I normally stain under my gloss. For today, I left the stain out for you guys so you could see the color by itself. I’m wearing EnvyDerm’s Volumizing andPlumping Lip Gloss in “Lola”. I like true pink glosses like this for Summer since they’re so cheery. I think besides the color, my favorite part of this gloss was how it feels once it’s gone. This rubs away during the day just like any gloss, but it leaves behind a balm-like feeling.
